Dosages for freeze-dried cultures
Cheeselinks freeze dried starter cultures are made of pure cultures. We do not add any fillers or volumisers to the cultures. Therefore, our cultures are highly concentrated culture, so the amount of granules needed may appear to be minuscule. Rest assured this small quantity is sufficient to inoculate the exact amount of liquid or medium stated on the packaging, regardless of the pack’s size.
Recommended dosage:
- To achieve optimal results, we recommend using a needle tip amount of freeze-dried starter culture per 1 litre of milk, as seen in the below photo.
- Or if you’re using Cheeselinks Mini Spoons, the measurement is ¼ of the smallest spoon which is the ‘drop’ size.
Please note, the suggested dosage may vary slightly based on the specific culture or application, so always refer to the product’s instruction label for the best results.
Extra Note:
Our Cultures are scientifically measured based on their activity rather than their physical weight. Each batch is carefully tested and divided into equal-dose vials to ensure every vial provides the correct level of active culture, regardless of its physical weight.
Because of this, it is completely normal for the weight of a culture vial to vary between batches.
